EVALUATING IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE INTERGENERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

Abstract Social isolation and loneliness contributed to poor health outcomes among rural older adults prior COVID-19. Physical distancing protocols during COVID-19 exacerbated social disconnect of paused in-person intergenerational programs. Pilot data from a Cyber-Seniors program that was adapted for virtual delivery participation the pandemic (2020-2021) indicates positive (improved loneliness). This presentation will address gap between implementation process technology program. Multi-method on student experiences as mentors working at distance suggest need an evaluation implementation. The type 1 effectiveness-implementation hybrid design includes quantitative measures (ageism, isolation, loneliness) qualitative analysis students’ experiences. Students identified challenges accessing with online platforms, scheduling meetings adults, providing support systems by phone.
